Brad is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (in Pennsylvania & Maine), coach, and Narrative Focused Trauma Care practitioner with more than twenty-five years of experience walking alongside individuals and couples as they seek healing, connection, and meaningful change.
At the heart of Brad's work is a deep curiosity about story.
He believes that many of the places where we feel stuck today make more sense when we understand the stories that shaped us. Our relationships, losses, longings, wounds, experiences of connection, and moments of beauty all influence how we learn to see ourselves and engage with the world around us. They shape what feels safe, how we respond to conflict, what we expect from relationships, and the ways our bodies learn to protect us.
For many people, the frustration isn't that they don't know what they want to change. They do. They want a healthier marriage. They want to stop shutting down or becoming overwhelmed during conflict. They want freedom from unwanted sexual behaviors. They want to feel more connected to themselves and the people they love. They want to stop living from fear, shame, anger, or old protective patterns.
They simply haven't been able to get there by trying harder.
Brad's approach invites people to become curious about why these patterns make sense.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms or behaviors, he helps clients explore the experiences underneath them: What happened? What did you learn about yourself? What did you learn about relationships? How did you adapt? What did your body learn to fear or protect you from? And how might those old responses still be influencing your life today?
This isn't about blaming the past. It is about understanding what we carry from it so that the past no longer has to unconsciously direct the present.
Story, witness, and integration
Brad's work is deeply rooted in the belief that our stories need more than analysis. They need to be witnessed.
He offers a compassionate, empathetic presence where people can tell the truth about both the beauty and pain of their stories without judgment, shame, or a rush to fix them.
Brad helps clients move toward integration, allowing what they are discovering through story work to create greater freedom in their bodies, relationships, choices, and everyday lives.
The hope is not simply, “Now I understand why I do this.” It is greater capacity to remain present when your body wants to protect you. To experience emotion without immediately escaping it. To engage conflict differently. To risk connection where you once expected rejection. To move toward the relationships, intimacy, freedom, and hope you wanted when you first began this work.
